It is clear that this year Black Friday is going to be something different from what we have experienced in previous editions. Mobility restrictions and other security measures to alleviate the spread of the Coronavirus will mean that this day will be carried out differently from previous editions. But will it be as different as we expect? To answer this question, IPG Mediabrands has launched the second edition of its Black Friday Spotlight study, where they reveal the keys to how Spaniards are going to shop next Friday, November.
Purchase forecasts and average ticket In this peculiar year that we are experiencing, the spending expected during Phone Number List Black Friday will be conditioned by the existing offers, therefore, 21% of Spaniards will buy at this long-awaited event only if they see an offer that is interesting to them. The average ticket that Spaniards will spend next Friday, November 27, will not exceed €100 for more than half of consumers , a figure very similar to what we saw last year. Clothing, footwear and accessories and technology continue to be the protagonists The most popular categories, as in previous years, continue to be clothing, footwear and accessories – 46% of consumers will buy products related to this category – and technology (40%), followed by cosmetics (13%), toys (12%) and furniture and decoration (9%).
Less whims and more equipment for the home Last year, the main reason for shopping on this date was to treat yourself. This year, however, we see how that trend has changed and purchases will be much more conscious. 39% of Spaniards will only buy things they need, waiting for this date to obtain a better price and be able to save part of the expense, given the situation of economic instability that we are experiencing. Also notable this year is the increase in purchases for home equipment (27% compared to 19% last year). As a result of confinement, Spaniards have realized the importance of being comfortable in their homes and equipping them with everything they need.
